Setoware is a type of Japanese pottery, stoneware, and ceramics produced in and around the city of Seto in Aichi Perfecture, Japan. It is one of the Six Ancient Kilns of Japan. The Japanese term for Seto ware is "setomono", which is also used as a generic term for all pottery, you can see the importance of Setoware to the Japanese pottery culture.
 
A set with a very rustic feeling. The glaze is said to be one the oldest glaze in Japan, having been used since the Heian period. The transparent pale color of the glaze pottery, which uses natural grass and wood ash as a solvent, gives it a unique feel and a touch of gentleness.
